Hastelloy X fasteners, which are also referred to as UNS N06002 fasteners, offer an outstanding resistance to corrosion, and high temperature strength. It is very resistant to stress corrosion cracking, but has outstanding ductility when tortured for 16,00 hours at temperatures up to 1,600F.
It is also favored for uses in furnaces, heaters, and many intensely hot applications being that it is weldable, heat treatable, and relatively easily machined. This is why we feel Hastelloy X fasteners basically offer the best of both worlds… resistance to corrosion and heat.
Hastelloy X fasteners. HASTELLOY X alloy is a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum alloy used in fasteners because it offers a superior resistance to corrosion, its fabricability and it is applicable in high-temperature environments.It has also been found to be excellent resistant to stress-corrosion cracking in petrochemical applications. Hastelloy X exhibits great ductility after prolonged temperatures of 1200, 1400, 1600°F (650, 760 and 870°C) for more than16,000 hours.
We recognize another attribute of HASTELLOY X is that it has characteristics that make it great for forming and welding. For this reason it is commonly used in aircrafts, furnaces, and chemical process applications. In addition it has been widely used in turbine engines.
It is interesting that furnace rolls of this alloy were still in good condition after operating for 8,700 hours at 2150°F (1177°C). This is why HASTELLOY X alloy is used for retorts, muffles, catalyst support grids, furnace baffles, tubing for pyrolysis operations and flash drier parts.
