There are five methods for non-destructive testing of turbines. Radiographic testing is introduced below.

Radiographic testing (abbreviated as RT) refers to a non-destructive testing method that uses X-rays or g-rays to penetrate the specimen and film as a recording device for information. This method is the most basic and widely used non-destructive testing method.

1. Principle of radiographic inspection method: rays can penetrate substances that cannot be penetrated by the naked eye to sensitize the film. When X-rays or r-rays irradiate the film, like ordinary light, they can make Silver halide in the film emulsion layer produce latent images. Due to the different absorption coefficients of substances with different densities to rays, the energy of rays irradiated everywhere on the film will also be different, so defects can be identified according to the density difference of the negative processed in the darkroom.

2. Characteristics of radiographic method: The advantages and limitations of radiographic method are summarized as follows: a. It can obtain intuitive images of defects, with accurate qualitative analysis, and relatively accurate quantification of length and width dimensions; b. The test results are directly recorded and can be stored for a long time; c. The detection rate of volumetric defects (porosity, slag inclusion, tungsten inclusion, burnthrough, undercut, overlap, pits, etc.) is high, while for area defects (incomplete penetration, incomplete fusion, cracks, etc.), if the camera angle is not appropriate, it is easy to miss the inspection; d. Suitable for inspecting thinner workpieces rather than thicker workpieces, as inspecting thick workpieces requires high-energy X-ray equipment, and as the thickness increases, its inspection sensitivity will also decrease;

e. Suitable for inspecting butt welds, but not for inspecting fillet welds, plates, bars, forgings, etc;

f. It is difficult to determine the position and size (height) of defects in the thickness direction of the workpiece;

g. High detection cost and slow speed;

h. With radiation biological effects, non-destructive testing ultrasonic flaw detectors can kill biological cells, damage biological tissues, and endanger the normal function of biological organs.

Overall, the characteristics of RT are more accurate qualitative analysis, intuitive images that can be stored for a long time, relatively high overall cost, and the harmful effects of radiation on the human body, resulting in slower testing speed.

Non destructive testing X-ray machines, commonly used in industrial departments for industrial testing, are industrial non-destructive testing X-ray machines (lossless testing). These portable X-ray machines can detect various industrial components, electronic components, and internal circuits.

For example, the detection of the rubber internal circuit connection of the socket plug, the internal welding of the diode, etc. BJI-XZ, BJI-UC and other industrial inspection X-ray machines are X-ray machines that can be connected to computers for image processing. These industrial inspection portable X-ray machines provide excellent solutions for the field of factory home appliance maintenance.

Artisan Industry is a supplier of aerospace components; Products include impeller, turbine, combustion chamber, fastener, etc.
